I know this is an old thread but didn't want to reinvent the wheel. Just chkd and my prewire is behind change holder.

My question is a suggestion on brake controller to buy. I will be pulling a car dolly w my 2016 Redhawk XL.

Now for the big question, Where is the pig tail located in the truck to connect the brake controller. I have called Jayco and Ford. Both say the pig tail is tapped up by the steering column. NO! Has anyone found it on the new 2015 trucks? Thanks in advance.
Yes, I found it up there in my 2015. As I recall, I had to remove the panel under the steering column. It was actually up and to the right of the steering column in that rat's nest of wiring. Good luck.

I was told by ford dealer that you cannot add a factory brake controller to a E-450 after the fact, can only be installed on original factory build order.

I installed the Tekonsha P3 #90195. Should handle any type trailer you could pull. Send me your e mail address (private mess) and I will send you some pictures on how and where I mounted my unit.
