2016 Melbourne Back Up Camera Clarity
Just curios if this is normal with the Pioneer AVH-X2700BS system. The back-up camera on my 24K is down right horrible. I know not to expect the same quality as my cars system but its pretty bad. There also appears to be no way to adjust anything via the stereo controls. The camera lens itself is clear w/o any scratches, etc. I suppose it serves its purpose of seeing any larger objects but I would never feel secure using it as my only eyes when backing into a campsite.

Our backup camera picture is sharp and clear. You probably should have it checked just in case there's a problem. We are being diligent about every little detail to utilize that great two-year warranty. We're glad to say we've had very few issues, all minor.

We have a different camera - looks like the one I posted an eBay picture of - but, us too. The picture is very sharp, very clear and I can see from about 1's past the bumper to 50-100' down the road .

Have you tried cleaning the camera lens?

We have a DIFFERENT issue with the backup camera on our 2017 24K.
It worked marvellously -------- clear, consistent, etc. while recently driving to our campsite.
When we departed, four days later, the camera flickered, and remained that way:didn't clear up all the way home.
I noted this with our dealer, who thinks it's a "loose cable connection" either at the dash, or at the camera. Hope to have it addressed when we next take it in for some service.

I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out a loose connection at the dash. I had my radio out twice and it is a rats nest back there. The first time they left the microphone for the hands free and the USB adapter in the glove box. I hooked both up and then I got the idea to add a USB port on the dash instead of having the cable coiled up.

LOL ----- That's where my Mike was too. I had them connect/mount it, but have taken a quick look behind the radio as well. I'll see if the dealer will "get around" to correcting the camera flicker when I take it in (not too optimistic). If they "don't have time", I plan to do it myself. I think CUSTOMER SERVICE is "short of breath" in these parts.

It is very easy to pop out the radio. Pry the narrow plastic trim around radio and then 4 small screws or if yours is like mine there was only 3 installed.
