2016 Seneca

Just ordered a 2016 Seneca HJ and was wondering if anyone has added a second fresh water tank. And would love to hear of other mods also!! Thanks in advance, Pat

New 2015 TS Seneca owner

Forum
I have a 2015 Seneca TS with 5500 miles since we picked it up in June. I picked the TS because I wanted to be able to get to the bed without putting the slide out. Since 1978 I have owned 3-4 gas jobs and 12 diesel pushers. Prior to the Seneca I had two 45 foot Prevost Royales and a 45 foot 4 slide Navigator. The Seneca is a great coach with a very large front with the two slides. The bed is hard to make has a bad mattress and the shower is small, but for the money I really like what I have now. I did the a fix to stop whistling and another to stop some rattling. I added electric horns to make it not sound like a VW Beatle.
The Seneca is the easiest to drive o all the RV's I have owned. It is now very quite and it has a very good ride. I am the inventor of the Blue Ox TrueCenter steering stabilizer, but so far in my 5500 miles nothing I have encountered makes me think the Seneca needs any steering help.
We are travelers more than we are campers so access to the bedroom seemed important with the slide in. I would like a little different bed and shower arrangement if I had the ability to change anything, but except for not being able to use more than 48 gallons of my 74 gallon fuel tanks I am very happy.
Right now my inverter is not inverting (I am a little lost on how to address this) there must be a way to reset somewhere, but so far I have not found a answer. The dealer was no help over the phone. I also decided to add a GPS as the factory unit (that worked good) was not used friendly when changes were needed. Now I use a Magellan for GPS and the factory unit for audio books and a full time rear camera to keep a eye on the Jeep and traffic.
Do I miss features I had on $600k-$800k RV's I had before? Well yes. Central locking, smart cruise, collision avoidance, and other stuff was very cool, but really the Seneca is all I need and it was very cheap when compared to the others and I do like driving it better.

Can you tell me more about the whistling reduction? I also have either a door rattle or an under dash rattle. It is driving me nuts. The cab whistle above 68 mph is pretty loud.

Top plastic bracket on mirror arms has 3 recessed holes. Fill with black caulk.
Test beforehand if you want by covering with finger while driving.

Plastic panel above drivers side saddle tank is only fastened at back.
This causes a loud rattle like noise.
Pull out front a little and put caulk behind, press and let dry overnight.

Seneca is near as quiet as high end RV.
Solid surface tops over range needs cushioning to stop rattle.
Now better than Prevost Royale Coach for noise.
Add electric horn to get rid of factory beep beep horn
Do you know how to reset inverter. It charges but does not invert
no tripped switches on inverter or fuse panel

With my 2012 Seneca the only plug the inverter powers when it is turned on is the microwave plug.

Inverter does not seem to be working properly

The display (which I thought used to so info at the bottom) now just shows volts only at top.
Before I thought I could charge my phones and computers off outlets using inverter. Now I can not find any outlets to charge phone from.
My batteries charge when on land power line, but when not on land line I cannot find any power.

The inverter only powers the micro and both TV's. When the ignition is in the front TV circuit disconnects. There is a thread that tells you how to circumvent the disconnect in the class"C" section.

You can charge using cigar lighter on dash. Just put in a USB insert or…I added additional dual plug outlet on dash. 1/2 is normal 12v cigar lighter, other half has 2 USB ports. It is wired to house batteries so can be hot without ignition key on.

I use the outlets to power Garmin RV760LMT gps and GoPro camera.

On my inverter the display was lit but nothing displayed. There is a setting that is changeable. I had to read the instructions to turn it back on I believe.

1) Does anyone know the type of Freightliner suspension the Seneca uses?
Their website lists six suspensions.
2) Anyone feel the stock cummins is underpowered?
3) Anyone feeling the need to upgrade the stock suspension?

Thanks, am rethinking the Jayco Seneca based on the 2016 model year.

1. air-ride in the rear, spring in the front
2. I did at first (and would still like another 100 lbs-ft of T) but it really is pretty good and I just did 4000 miles through some pretty big hills/climbs
3. I think it works well. You get used to the lean

All in all the more you drive it the better it feels.

I like the idea of air brakes even though the hydraulic brakes are good especially with the exhaust brake. air ride seats is another good option for the 2016

Actually, my question was in relation to this website:
https://www.freightlinertrucks.com/T...s/M2106/Specs/
They list six, actually seven, different suspensions for that model spec:
Taper Leaf, Flat Leaf Spring, Multi-Leaf Spring, Haulmax/Premax/Firemax, Airliner, TufTrac.

The Cummins ISB is a good fit for the Seneca but that depends on what you want to tow. It will climb western mountain grades towing a Jeep. My Tiffin DP had the same engine and the Seneca does much better on grades, i.e., I can feel the improved power to weight ratio (tranny doesn't downshift on rolling terrain). And, I'm getting better fuel mileage - averaging 9.5 mpg running at 65+ mph vs 8.9 mpg at 60 or less.

Re lean. The Seneca corners better than my DP with upgraded shocks. Speeds posted on curves were to be taken about 5 mph less with the DP.
