We just brought home our new RV. Have an issue with the carbon monoxide propane light. It flashes red, push test button, it didn't stop. Not sure what's wrong. BTW I'm a Newbie so need help. Maybe I should explain we drove home with refrig on and propane on. Unfortunately I got two different answers about running refrig while driving. One said turn it on to auto and it would draw from propane while driving and when stopped and hooked to electricity in would draw from the electric. The other said turn of refrig and propane while driving. So not sure what to do and definitely don't want to die for CO poisoning.

Ours did the same thing... The first suggestion from the dealer was to turn the main power off (the switch by the door) for 10 minutes, and see if it re-sets. That didn't work, so when we were at the Jayco Factory Service Center for some other work, they replaced it on the spot... end of problem.

By the way, we discovered that both hair spray, and doggie "gas" will set the thing off.

Audible alarm

Any chance the red light just indicates it is powered? If there was a CO2 problem it is an audible alarm.

That little light is actually a pain in the butt, because it is a parasitic draw on your battery while parked.

The red light blinks and it is the one that says it is a propane light according to the manual we should only see a green light which indicates all is fine.

Put the fridge on auto. It will automatically switch from propane to electric when you plug it in to ac at the campground or draw off your generator if you have it running as you are driving.
