2018 Jayco Class C's

Just finished talking to my dealer about trading our 2016 Jayco 26XD to a 2018 Redhawk or Greyhawk. He said that they're just starting to come in now, but no new literature as yet.

He said that one of the biggest changes is that Jayco is going back to the "normal" water heater, because of the volume of complaints. Jayco has been replacing the tank-less water heaters with tank models at no charge, which, I imagine, was very expensive.

He said that there was still no word on the Transit chassis, as there are still at least another production years worth of E450 chassis sitting around. Jayco may also stop offering the Chevy chassis, as so few are being sold.

Can't wait to see what all of the 2018 changes are....

We just started looking also. We are leaning towards a Greyhawk 30X.

Can anyone please explain to me the pros and cons of the $1800 for aluminum rims on the Greyhawk?

Quite an expensive option, possibly a little weight savings ???
Another possibility, easier to check air pressure in the rear tires. On my greyhawk the rear tires are a pain in the butt to check and pressurize with the china stainless hubcaps on the wheels. With the wheel coverings off,way easier....

Interesting. I just got a 2017 26X1, it has a hot water heater tank (not tankless) to the best of my knowledge. And according to my dealer when we got it the Chevy's were selling up here faster than the Fords. So I would be curious to see what happens.

They will be lighter - every pound in a Greyhawk matters. I think I read somewhere you can save 25 pounds per wheel but I can't remember for sure.

While on subject of aluminum rims, anyone know their psi rating ( which may have an affect on tires to use)

We picked up a 2018 MV last weekend. Notable changes from the 2015 model are;

New driftwood wood color throughout coach with updated fabric decor (beats old cherry/honey glaze!)
New light beige vinyl flooring in rectangle tile design throughout (bright, works well with overall color scheme!)
Metal clip slam latches on outside compartments (except gen & battery) with custom key (no more 751!)
Updated driver/passenger mirrors with side camera (not integrated into mirror, but below!)
Garmin / Fusion Nav/Radio with removable faceplate (great update over Clarion model!)
47 Gal fresh water tank (sure beats 32 gal!)
Full queen bed in sofa (Jackknife was not practical for adults!)
· White exterior with new black/brown/blue graphics package
· LCI leveling system with digital readout
· Atwood 6gal tank water heater
· White LED courtesy light on exterior
· Carbon Fiber decal trim package in coach
· King Jack Antenna
· Thermofoil seamless counters throughout
· Stainless sink bowls throughout
· Stainless faucets throughout (even in shower)
· No outside grill mount, grill or TV mount
· Cup holders mounted into table
· Additional 110V plug under dining table in bench seat
· Solar panel wiring prep connections on roof
· Skylight in living area
· Roller day & night shades vs accordion pleated shades
· Flush mount LED puck lights under cabinet over kitchen sink
· DVD/Bluray player with main TV in coach
· Replaced pull-out cabinet/counter for just counter (with soft glide hardware)
· Updated keyless entry lock on main door
· Larger seamless windows throughout
· Replaced 4 drawer stack on both sides of sink with 3 drawer stack (wider drawers where pull-out counter was)
· 6 speed Ford transmission and 7500 lb tow capacity (up from 5000 lbs)
· Power command/usage amp monitor for various landline services (15, 20 30 amp)
Removed light in shower (kinda dark at night)
Standard 8 cubic foot Fridge (standard 10 cubic foot in our 2015)
Updated coach seats (sit higher and seat much wider... not as comfy)

I know some of the above changes were made in the 2016/17 models, but I am comparing this to the 2015 model year.

What made you switch to the same floorplan? Were the upgrades worth it to you? Did something happen to your 2015?

Oh, don't forget the fiberglass roof on your new one.

Does your new one have more or less OCCC then your old one?

I've heard the problem with the aluminum wheels is the fact that there are only 4, instead of 6 so you wouldn't be able to rotate them without it looking really goofy.

Can anyone confirm they only come with 4 aluminum wheels?

MrJackSprat - Thank you for the nice summary. What is the OCCC on your new 2018 MV?

RV is currently at our local Cummins service center being diagnosed (gen wont start). I will update you with the OCCC when it is back in our possession.

Anybody have any thoughts about the leak potential of the skylight and the cabover window in the 2018 Greyhawks?

We've been having torrential rains here in So. Fla for about 4 days. I have the 2018 Greyhawk 29 MV with the the sky lights in the bath and living area. I have checked them frequently between downpours and no leaks. Don't have the front bunk window as in the P model. I would'nt really want it.

Pros? Look nice.

Cons? Need work to keep them nice and the price.

Verdict? A waste of good money; I wish I had not purchased them. Stainless
liners work and look fine.

YMMV
