A very different service encounter

Imagine a world where you can get a service appointment within two weeks, and repairs done in less time than that......

Yeah it can happen, or at least part of it might. I dropped my rig off at a real RV repair and maintenance shop in town today, and it may be ready later this week. I am so over the whole, dealership knows best crap. And as I come off of my factory warranty, you can bet it may never see that dealership again....

For those on the west coast of FL, check out RV Medic right down the road from Busch Gardens.

Wow, Dropped it off yesterday for slide that is out of alignment causing a gouge in the flooring and steps that don't want to go up and down. Just got off the phone with them and the slide is out and they found the problem with the front slide. Seems that the two slide mechanisms are not evenly distributed and a roller is needed in the back of the slide by the kitchen to keep things level. Said roller bracket has 4 holes, yet only two had screws into hollow tubing, allowing it to flex and fail over time. It will be fun to see what Jayco says when I hand them the bill and write up for the repairs. The best part of this story is that I will have my camper back this weekend. QUICKEST REPAIR VISIT EVER!!!!

Just thought I'd respond, since bad reports seem to always get lots of responses.

Congratulations! Nice to know there are some good dealers/repair shops out there. Happy camping.

Here is their web site. What they lack in social media and web prowess is made up for in customer service and capabilities.

Looks like they may be done by Tomorrow....

Well now, repairs are done and they are doing the paperwork. For the stairs they went to the Manufacturer for their warranty and got the motor covered. For the Slide, it was less than what they quoted originally. She will be all ready for pickup tomorrow.

Holy crap it is nice to work with real professionals.

How many rollers and white plastic pad that the roller rides on does everybody have on each slide?

My understanding from the tech is that the slide mechanisms for the 31fs are at the front of the vehicle and that at the rear of the slide, the roller is the only support. The bigger slide in the rear has wall mounted mechanisms I think.

Quickest repair visit EVER! Everything looks good, and only had to pay for the slide, but JAYCO will be getting a claim from me.

Bought a Dolly while there too, and got measured for slide toppers.
