I'm with you on that one too. I've spend considerable time researching the problem and the most I could find was a video on how to hack a Honeywell thermostat to work with these systems. And that hack wasn't 100% satisfactory. These thermostats are unique in that they require a means of controlling the propane furnace in addition to the heat pump/AC. Other brands and types of thermostats can easily control the heat pump and air conditioner but when it comes to the additional propane control, I couldn't find any other thermostat with that capability.

What I would really like is a thermostat that is also wi-fi so I could control it with an app.

hello. yes the original airxcel thermostat died in our 29MV 2017. I talked to jayco and told him I wanted reliable thermostat that is not so automatic or digital.

he recommended this model. 8530-3481 . I did solder and shrink-wrap all conductors .

Coleman Mach - Wall Thermostats for RVs | Airxcel

works great with our Colman mach ac /heatup /furnance combo

You'd need to create and run a local network, wouldn't you?
Or do some WiFi theromstats have a mini server built in?

I use a Straighttalk router in my RV so I could connect to that.

I switched ours to the digital Coleman model. It's a wire for wire swap and takes 5 minutes. I got it from a local RV dealer for $50. I had no interest in battling the "joy" that comes with trying to make a residential thermostat work. You can call the guys at Coleman with your AC model number and they'll tell you exactly which one to go with.

Mine too - or digital in the sense that the readout is digital.
