Adjusted the Water Pump Position Last Night
The strainer area going into the water pump had a small leak so I finally got around to looking at it last night. Turns out the water pump was tucked way up on the wall of the compartment. It was positioned so that the Pex water line was up against and even bent by the gray water waste pipe. And the strainer was pointed up, instead of down, for easier access. The supply line was hanging down in front of the gray water pipe as well.
So I purchased a Shurflo strainer that has a swivel nut to thread it on the water pump so that it can be positioned properly regardless of where "tight" is. I also bought a new swivel nut elbow for the other side of the strainer as well and rerouted the supply line behind the gray water pipe to get it up and out of the way.
When connecting it all back up I lowered the water pump so that none of lines come in contact with anything else...no binding of joints and quieter too!
Here's before and after pics. You can even see where I had wire tied a piece of foam to the pex to minimize the noise it made when the pump was in use because the pex was in contact with the gray water pipe.
