Alignment on 2015 Greyhawk

I've read that some of you who had alignment issues were reimbursed by Jayco to have someone do it. My dealer tells me that it should be a Ford issue and that they should do it under warranty since I only have 800 miles on it. I will be contacting a Ford dealer locally to determine if this is true, but if any of you have had this done through Jayco and have a contact for me, I would appreciate that information. Thank You

The alignment was done when it left the ford assembly plant.. then Jayco added all that weight to it so naturally the alignment goes to heck.. IMHO the dealer should be taking it over to Ford...

You should bone up on the E series alignments, specifically the topic of +caster.

Here is a link to my experience, circa 2010.
E350/E450 Handling Problems are caused by too little + CASTER

I called Jayco and they approved the alignment work and adjustment to the helper springs , if necessary. Happy with the service and dealings with Jayco.

JulieMike, did they pay the ford dealer directly or or did they reimburse you for it?

CarlB, My dealership is paying for the alignment through Jayco who has approved it. Jayco will reimburse my dealer. They also provided the specs for the helper springs and approved adjustment if they are out of specs. You need to speak with someone at Jayco in Warranty and Customer Service (motorized units). They are very helpful.

Just got our alignment done today. Jayco supplied the Hellwig Helper springs specs to the truck service company who did the alignment in the event the springs were no longer at specs. It was found that mine were still at Hellwig specifications as they are supplied to Jayco (they are at about 4"). The unit was a bit out of alignment and after completed the drive back home was much improved. I am happy with the handling now.

Harvard, you were right. The camber and castor were off on one side. They removed them and installed new upper adjustable bushing. It made a difference. I am pleased with the handling now.

Astounding. That Jayco would cover alignment under warranty. Almost every Greyhawk sold needs alignment adjustment to improve handling and safety. Spread the word.

Good point. It is my belief that every E350/E450 comes off the Ford assembly line with fixed camber/caster sleeves which have a caster setting about +3.0 to +4.0 degrees of runtime caster. This setting is good for city vans but should be +5 to +6 for highway driving.

The symptoms of not having enough caster on the highway is looseness in the steering wheel (ie a dead zone between left and right), which results in a lot of wandering and instability.

Note: If the rig has a fore to aft nose down of 1.0 degree then the runtime caster off the Ford assembly line is going to be about +3.0 degrees. Having rear air bags on a completed RV will get you here. If the unit is fore to aft level then the runtime caster off the Ford assembly line is going to be about +4.0 degrees. In either case you want to shoot for +2.0 more degrees caster provided by replacing the camber/caster sleeves.

WDW, here is what was done on the chassis alignment. I don't have the Hellwig specs.
