Arctic freeze in South Louisiana....

Well, maybe not that bad!!
However, would like a few thoughts from everyone.
We are going to have some below freezing weather for a couple of nights down here in Louisiana. Due to work lately, I haven't had a chance to blow out the water lines in our 2012 Greyhawk 31DS.
I really don't know if I will have a chance to tonight either. I was considering getting home and making sure there was no water in my water heater or drain point lines. I then thought about running the heater in it overnight at about 60 or so with the cabinets open to get a little heat on the water lines to prevent freezing.
What do you guys think about my idea?

You are forecast to get down to 23 degrees sunday, you should winterize with your preferred method before then in my opinion.

You should be ok tonight, if the weatherman is right, the wind isn't blowing, and you have good karma.

ETA - Saturday night is only 1 degree warmer. If you can winterize sometime between now and Saturday evening, I think you should. You could be fine without doing so, but I know I wouldn't sleep well that night wondering if something is breaking.

The heater is a good idea but obviously it won't help you much when your outside fixtures freeze solid. As they say, you place your bets and you take your chances.

What are you expecting for over night lows, and day time high.

If the overnight lows are in the mid twenties and the daytime highs in the forties I wouldn't worry about it at all maybe put an electric space heater in with the doors open would be a bonus.

If you can open the low Point valves and the faucets and drain the tanks in general you should be good as you'll have room for it ice to expand

I would really worry about the outside shower area and flush line to black tank and things like that. That plastic is unforgiving.

I live in Southern Louisiana and you will be safe tonight. The temperature may dip below 28 degrees but only for a couple hours. Tomorrow night forecast is for temps to drop in the lower 20's and would be the time you would want to have your lines cleared.

I'll make sure my drain lines and water heater are empty when I get home. Tomorrow, I will blow out the lines out for safety.

Good idea.
Do it.

I was going to chime in that on our first motorhome, I brought it from New Mexico and into an unexpected cold front.

Didn't have the time or the knowledge to winterize.

Temps were mid 20's.

I ran the furnace and plunked an electric heater in the basement storage area where the plumbing was.

Things were fine for several days.
