Aux. Gas Line No Pressure. Answers?

Not getting any pressure out of the rear auxiliary/bbq gas line. Checked for crimps and cracks in line and all seams good. Plenty of pressure at stove and furnace works fine. Also checked the gas insert and that is good too. I also put my propane torch on the line and there is barely a hiss out of it, and no flame. I can smell a bit of propane but not enough to get a flame I also bleed the line to see if it was an air lock. I haven't used this before since it is a new RV. Just wanted to check to see if it worked with my grill. Also it seems that there is already a regulator on it. Would it work with regulator on grill too? My next step is to check the shut off valve. Is there another valve? Nothing in owners manual about it. Thanks

Are you opening the valve right before the qc connector?

No it will not operate very well if the grill connected has another regulator. This is regulated at the qc connection. Depends on what grill you have and if it has been modified to work on low pressure. There are lots of threads on this on JOF.

That's the problem I had the first time I tried to hook my camp stove to the auxiliary gas line. After much research on line and in this forum, norty1 is correct, with the exception of a few, all our propane grills/stoves have a regulator and there is not enough gas pressure for it to work. You can put on a connection in front of the regulator on the main tank or continue to haul propane bottles to hook up to the stove and grill.

I had to replace the female fitting on our aux gas line, due to losing a little brass piece that is inside the fitting. It fell out once while disconnecting. The male fitting pushes on this piece, which allows gas to flow. Something to check......
