Auxillary Propane connection

Reaching out to those with more knowledge.

After a year of playing with the '16 Greyhawk 29MV, I have finally decided to look into that little Propane connector near the rear axle on the passenger side. I have looked at it a few times but never stopped to examine it thoroughly.

I understand the need to remove any regulator on the cooking stove or grill. No issue there.

Is that connection on the coach a type of quick-connect? What do I need to be able to use it.

Yes, it is a quick connect. You may be able to find a nipple for it at your local hardware store.

Thanks for the quick response,

Now, another question pops up. Is this RV propane source a low pressure or high pressure source...??

In my research, I'm finding some are saying that many propane cooking devices don't work on low pressure propane sources.

Low Pressure.
Your Grey Hawk has a 2 stage regulator right away after the LP bottles that bring the pressure down to about 11 water column inches which is the correct pressure for stove, water heater and furnace. The reason you don't want another regulator on your grill is that it will restrict the flow even more and you won't be able to get much heat out of it.

If you have a Jayco propane grill, all you have to do is connect it to the connection you ID'd, and you'll be cooking with gas. The Jayco grill (OEM option) does not have a regulator on the grill itself as it was designed to operate from the GH's propane tank via the QD mentioned.

This grill is 'plug and play' with your camper. All you need is the hose.

https://www.amazon.com/Flame-King-YS...102346665b1a1d

There are better grills out there for sure, but this one does ok for burgers and what not.

I'm a Weber fan, so I'm switching to my Q grill when the Chinese Jayco grill dies, but honestly it's doing ok for what it is. You can buy the hoses at Amazon, camping world, etc... it's a very 'industry standard' arrangement.

You can also remove the regulator and just add the adapter. I've done that for 2 grills.

Bought this hose to connect to the quick connect on the motorhome:

https://www.amazon.com/Camco-57282-P.../dp/B00CPYC9BC

Then I purchased this hose for my Camp Chef Big Gas Grill 3 (to replace the original hose with an inline regulator):

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00IZ...BWL&ref=plSrch

Used this setup all last year with no problems. Very convenient to not have to carry around a separate large gas tank for cooking at the campsite.
