Bad t-stat ?

2017 Greyhawk 29mv, t-stat for front a/c (stat for heat,cool,fan) not working. Checked fuse in stat and it's good, 12volt 15amp fuse in fuse panel keeps blowing. Any pointers?(we are at a bluegrass festival in Amelia Va.) thanks

Simple - thermostats are heavy metal fans. You're killing it w/ bluegrass.

Fuse blowing instantly or when the system calls for heat/cool?

If blowing instantly, you've got a short in the wiring to the T-stat or the T-stat itself is fouled.

If blowing when attemting to satisfy a call, the unit being called (or the wiring to the uint) is shorted.


T-stats gave up on Metal years ago!

No suggestions for this specific model but I lost power to my thermostat last year (possible mice damage I have not found). If you can identify your 12V + feed wire at the thermostat and you have some spare wire, run a jumper from your nearby light fixture to your thermostat. I did this (DW hated my field fix) but we had AC the rest of the weekend.
