Best Water Filter refills

Reaching out to those with experience.

Having purchased our new Greyhawk 29MV coach, it came from the Jayco factory already winterized. The water filter was removed, so I have no idea what it should look like.

I can only imagine the dealer left it winterized because there was still a potential for freezing temps back in the first week of February.

What is the best replacement water filter for what looks to be a standard water filter canister....???

The first water filter element comes with the RV. If it's not in the accessory bag, get it from the dealer... It's owed to you!!

When I took delivery of my 29MV, there were two filters in the bathroom drawers. my assumption is that they came from the factory.

I am not big on the built in filters. Too hard to change. I use the in-hose filters and bypassed the build in filter. Much easier to change!

On by-passing the built-in filter - does it make sense to just remove the filter cartridge and put the filter bowl back on? Or should I probably just re-plumb to remove?

I use both. The built in filter is very easy to change. You just need the filter wrench.

I have a 2012 Greyhawk 31SS. Onboard filter is located behind a panel inside the rear storage compartment. Changing it requires emptying out the rear storage, climbing in there and removing a panel to get to the filter. It's a design flaw IMO. Maybe some models are different. So last time I was in there I bypassed the filter and use an in hose filter now.

I would bypass the filter. Unless you live in a place where it does not freeze, I would think leaving the bowl on, with or without filter, it would freeze.

Did not know that. It does sound like a PITA. The Seneca filter is wide open and couple minute job at best.
