Big Foot Bottoms Out

Hello All,

When I took delivery of my 2015 Greyhawk 29ME I had a good look at the undercarriage and the one think that made me nervous was how low the Big Foot stabilizers hang.

My concerns were proven accurate when I tried to back into the driveway at home and the rear stabilizers bottomed out. Fortunately I was moving very slowly and stopped prior to any damage.

Looking at the components I noted that there is a second set of mounting holes which would move the Jacks up by about an inch. Does anyone have any experience with this? Does the room exist to to use the lower mounts? did the extra room provide enough benefit to make it worth the labour and losing that inch of extension?

If you do a search someone on here mounted the rear jacks higher and posted pictures. Ive been meaning to do the same mod to mine as well.

I bottomed out and bent a pin so I completely understand your issue. After doing a bunch of research I found out that the levelers on my 29MV should have been 7-9" off the ground. Mine was not even 6".
I sent an email to the mother ship (Jayco customer service) and they authorized to have the pin replaced as well as have all the jacks raised up to their proper height

Straight off the Bigfoot install sheet...
" Set cylinder with bracket on frame in pre-selected location, (check pages later in booklet for typical locations)verify proper ground clearance (Class A/B/C motorhomes should have between 7-9” of ground clearance, Class 8 truck/motorhomes should have 9-12”)"

I was able to get underneath the rig today. The Front leveleres are properly installed with 7" of clearance.

The rear levellers are 6.25"... The foolish thing is the mounts have another set of holes that if properly installed would have put the equipment within spec.

I was going to fix it myself. But the rig is already going in for work next week... So armed with sfergie631's advise.. I will be having the dealer bring my equipment in line with manufacturers specs!

How hard is it to do yourself?

My Dealer is 470 miles away and Johnny Walker Rv here in Las Vegas won't have nothing to do with you if you didn't buy from them.

The rears on mine were actually an easy do it yourself job... I only hand them do it because it was in for other work and I did not own the right size socket.

The mounting bracket has two positions available on it and the factory used the "Lower" of the two positions. It was a matter of removing four nuts, adjusting to the "higher" slots and putting the nuts back on.
