Bikes

We recently purchased a 31FS, upgrading from a traveler trailer. We want to bring along 4 adult-sized bikes (ranging 24"-27"). We plan to be towing a CRV, but haven't get got the hitch yet. What configuration would work best for the bikes? Attaching 4 bikes to the CRV on either a roof or rear rack?? 4 bikes seems too much for the Greyhawk ladder. What about the tow options between the RV and car? Thanks in advance for sharing your experience!

I'll never hang anything on the ladder. My folks did and had a bad experience. I use a Yakima 4 bike rack similar to this. I plan to install a tube on the front of my truck for the rack. Yakima DoubleDown 4 Bike Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting Yakima Hitch Bike Racks Y02424

Thanks. Did you attach it to the car you were towing?

I'm truck and trailer. I had a reinforced bumper on a previous trailer. My Jayco does not, hence the tube on the front of the tow vehicle (coming soon). Your CRV shouldn't bounce enough to cause damage with a hitch mounted rack.

I use a double receiver on the back of MH. Bike rack goes on top and tow bar on bottom. I've carried 4 bikes that way. You could also use that setup and carry two bikes behind MH and another bike rack with two bikes on tow vehicle. I did that before I bought a four bike rack.

I installed a front hitch on our 31FS and have the bikes or scooter up front and towed vehicle behind. Works out great.
