Blu-ray Player

In the 2016 Redhawk brochure it states as standard interior equipment a Blu-Ray Player with HDMI hook up. My new Redhawk 29XK does not have one. Has anyone gotten one with their Redhawk ?

I have only heard of BluTooth enabled units.

"AM/FM/CD/DVD/USB A/V System with Bluetooth® and HDMI®,"

Furrion does make the model DV1200 that does include HDMI. But it looks like the Whitehawk's standard Entertainment system is a model with Bluetooth and without HDMI. (Model DV1100). The DV1200 MSRP is $349.00.

Our Redhawk 29XK came with a Furrion HDMI TV. No DVD or Blueray was included. Bought a refurbished Sony HDMI/ WiFi capable Blueray for $60.00 from Amazon. Works great.

Just now looked a the brochure again. It DOES say under Standard Interior Equipment, "Blu-Ray™ player with HDMI® hookup"

Just for fun, I guess I need to ask the dealer where it is. That could get interesting!!! LOL

Sorry, I was looking at the wrong brochure.

The Redhawk brochure does say "Blu-Ray™ player with HDMI® hookup"
If it's not still in a box hidden in a compartment it will be something the dealer should be able to get.

We didn't get one in ours, and the dealer didn't know anything about it. Got a new Samsung WiFi enabled Blu-ray player from an eBay store for 59.00. We've had nothing but problems with the Furrion TV, so I'm in the process of replacing it with a 32" Samsung Smart TV.

The brochures also say all specs subject to change without notice...

What problems did you have with the Furrion TV?

When I picked up my Redhawk 26XD There was no Blue Ray player installed, apparently it was a mistake in the brochure and Jayco had notified dealers of the error.
The reply from my dealer at Big Boys Toys, Parksville BC: "If your going to spend this kind of money, it should at least have a Blue Ray player." He installed one free of charge.

We didn't know when we purchased, but it's apparently a known issue with the Furrion... When it does the initial channel scan (for over the air broadcasts), it does a very poor job of selecting view-able channels. In Jacksonville, for example, it found 23 channels, and only 9 of them could actually be viewed.

Additionally, the volume kept going up and down by itself, the sound quality was very poor, and the tiny buttons on the remote were a pain.

But other than that...

All in all, it was more trouble than it was worth... I'll never understand why Jayco doesn't put in quality name brand electronics.

You could have gone all day without saying that. LOL

I am sure I will be happy with whatever my TT comes equipped with but there are still a few things that are up in the air and have changed since my first inquiry.

elcheapo,

Please let us know what you find out... they advertised the Blu-Ray player, and by-gosh, I think they should send one to everybody that bought a 2016 unit!

For $ 80,000.00 (or however much) you would think that they could throw in a
$ 20.00 (probably all it cost them) player!

So there... :-)

My new Redhawk doesn't have any "extras" such as CD player blu ray or anything. My stereo system is awful and now will not play in speakers in unit. Very frustrating and the little auxiliary port wiggles and the sound kinda comes and goes. Not liking that cause I like my music. My list for warranty work is growing but just spent 5 great days at Cloudland Canyon State Park and even without running water (another warranty problem) cause valves won't open, we had a great time and I love the "hawk" so far. Drives fantastic and smoother than any of my other vehicles!

There seems to be two types of AV customers. Those that would not know the difference between a Reference audio system and a clock radio. The solution they provide is for those who do not know better or just do not care.

Then there are those who invest a lot of money in AV equipment and would not think twice to rip out the factory crap and replace it with quality components. P.S. Speakers in the walls may be convenient but it is probably the worst place you could place a speaker.
