Brake Pedal Extenders

35UN Precept
I have trouble getting comfortable in the drivers seat due mostly to being short. I really need some type of brake pedal extender. All the adjustments to the seat have been maxed out. Any suggestions?

My wife is short and our truck came with the adjustable pedal option.

She NEVER uses it!

I had this issue. The remedy was re-mounting the chair. There are a series of mounting holes for the chair which can be re-mounted further forward. That did the trick for me.

JoeMazz did you remount the seat yourself or did you take it to the dealer for service?

I had the dealer do it while the unit was in for warranty maintenance. Cost me $60. Fair price, I think.

I had them do it during prep; but after he showed me what he did, and it did not seem very difficult. Couple of bolts, and probably an extra set of hands.

I called my dealer,Coleraine RV in Cincinnati, about moving my seat forward. They're doing it at no charge. Thanks for mentioning that Joe

Which bolts do they move - the bolts holding the pedestal base to floor or bolts holding the seat to the pedestal?

I am 6 feet one inch tall and have seat completely forward. My feet are OK on pedals but I still drive with both arms straight and this makes me tired pretty fast. Since I use cruise control as much as possible having the seat closer to the wheel would allow me to rest my arms on the armrests.

Thanks for this tip as I have been thinking I would drill and move the base forward. I don't see (easily) any bolts that would move seat on base but sounds like they are prolly there?

Per Jayco the bases are bolted through the floor to steel crossmember. Relocating the base would result in seat base bring bolted to floorboards only so probably wouldn't work.

That makes a lot of sense, airman2o2, but you should take another look at your rig. The rear two bolts are seen inside the small compartment just behind front wheel and are only bolted to flooring. The front two bolts can be seen in the wheel house and are only passing thru the flooring. The steel brace you describe is between these bolts.

Relocating the base only requires one decision on my rig, drill new holes in floor or drill new holes in base. I am leaning on drilling the floor in my case as sealing the old holes would be easy.

If JoeMazz says there are extra holes at the top of the base that the seat bolts to then my troubles are over. That would be a nice fix. You can bet I'll be looking for them today when I get home!!

On my coach it was bolts from the chair to the chair base. No drilling; there were/are available holes to mount the chair further forward on the base.
At least that was the case on mine.
