Bumper padding for a cover

I have a GH31ss with a rectangular rear bumper, and in turn it has some sharp corners on each end. I got an ADCO tyvek cover and put it on today but could not think of a way to pad the ends of the bumper so the new cover would not get holes or rips in the 1st year. I used pool noodle material for the rain gutters and other sharp edges but the bumper was way too big for noodles.

Any suggestions of what to use???

How about a smaller basket ball or similar cut in half and placed on the end of the bumper, it will be held in place by the elastic and strap tension of the cover.
