Cable TV setting?

My TV is working well with antenna but the CATV will not find any channels in a search. I turned off the antenna booster, which is a real PITA since I have to go into the cubby hole to reach. I checked the connections which are all seem secure.

Other than switching off the booster and changing input on TV, is there any setting I have to change to get CATV?

Thanks, Mark

Ps. Buffalo is great and I love the Seneca.

Mark, did you change the input on your tv? as well as turning off the fm booster switch, you have to also change that from air to cable and then do an auto search. Hope this helps.

The booster needs to be turned off when using cable. The TV will not find cable channels with it on.

Channel scan once on 'cable' - but it sounds like you're already doing the two things:
- booster off
- 'antenna/cable' on TV menu set to cable

For a quick test perhaps you can connect your RG Cable coming from the campground pedestal directly into the back (Antenna input) of your HDTV unit. Then select cable from the TV menu and run a channel scan... Bypassing everything in-line may give you a clue where the problem might be... Could be just a bad RG cable connecting to the cable TV source...

Then work back from there...

Thanks for the suggestions. I am turning booster off, input is on catv and doing a search for cable channels but none are found.

I will try another cable at the next campground. Thanks.

+1 on the suggestion from Roy. If you've got enough cable, try going directly from the pedestal to the TV. If you can get stations then you know there's something hinky in the wiring in the coach.

It is very possible the pedestal you are trying to connect to is just not working. It's connector could be bad, broken, or no signal is being fed. Use another feed source to check.

I don't know much about a 2018 Jayco Seneca 37TS, but do you have multiple inputs on the outside of the Seneca? ANT, CABLE, SAT?

And of course our camp spot for the next 3 days, in Poland NY, doesn't have cable. I did try connecting to the "satellite" input in case they were switched.

I am hoping it was the pedestal. I'll find out next week.

Thanks for the input.

Do you have access to a VCR or older DVD that has a cable output? If so, take it outside, hook it up to the outside port and see if you can get a signal. Make sure you have the TV set to the correct channel (normally 3 or 4) and see if you get video. This way you don't need the cable at the pedestal. Make sure you turn off the antenna amp

So as it turns out, the cable to the main TV broke off from the connector that goes into splitter. Jayco must pay for cable by the inch it was stretched so tight. Reconnected and now have cable but what a rats nest of wire and cable. There is not even enough cable to clean up and tie together.

Also, is there any way to turn antenna booster on and off without climbing up and digging around entertainment cave?

Thanks, Mark

I am surprised that your antenna WALL PLATE is not so available to use...

My 2008 Model ANTENNA WALL PLATE looks like this...

This is also a neat pictorial of how to use the Antenna WALL Plate...

Hope this helps...

Yea, I think a future project will be to relocate the switch to a more accessible location.

But we are missing the point here. I now have cable TV. Yippee!
