Flat tow Ford Focus

Wondering if anyone flat tows a Ford Focus. We've towed a Ford Edge with our Blue Ox setup with no problems. Now have a lighter weight Ford Focus and would like to tow it instead. Anyone know the procedure you go through to tow a Focus?

No matter advice you get here or off the internet, I would check with your dealership as to what the manufacturer recommends.

Exact same procedure for the Focus as the Edge. In neutral and max speed of 70 mph.

Towing 2012 Focus

We towed our 2012 Focus no problem before switching to an Edge (LOL). The only difference is according to the Ford manual, you have to disconnect the battery after putting the car in neutral. We always followed those instructions, after reading in several posts about people who had their toad trannys ruined after not disconnecting the battery. Others had no problem but we did not want to take a chance.
Point of interest - Ford manual says disconnect the negative battery cable, but if you have looked under the hood you know that it is a PITA to get to that, so I always removed the positive.
Good Luck.

Our Focus is 2016 and is one that can be towed. We always towed the Edge in neutral with battery disconnected and key in Accessories position. My Ford Dealer wasn't sure if the Focus was the same, so I did some online searching. I found this on holidayfordusa.com
Turn on ignition and shift into neutral
Switch climate control system to recirculated air mode
Wait for entertainment display to say transmission is ready, and then turn off the ignition
Disconnect your battery
Start your engine within 15 minutes of reconnecting the battery after towing

Seems a little different, turning off the ignition. Just wondered if anyone is towing a Focus and what steps they use.

We just purchased a 2017 Focus to tow behind our Seneca. We had CW install the Roadmaster Falcon 2 All Terain towbar. We also had them install the invisabrake, when they did that the tech install a switch so I did not have to disconnect the battery cable.
