Fresh water doesn't seem to fill all the way after winterize

I blow out the lines to winterize on my Melbourne but when I fill up the tank I seem to run out early on a trip (only a couple showers and some regular sink/toilet action). On subsequent trips I seem to have significantly more water. Would this be because there is quite a bit of capacity in the lines and I need to somehow fill everything?

The procedure I currently use is.
1. Set to city fill tank.
2. Start water running from spigot.
3. When water flows out of the overflow under the RV I turn it off.

Some TT have issues with water flowing out of the overflow when driving to your destination. Maybe some MH have similar issues.

I have a couple of corks I put in the end of my 2 overflow outlet tubes. The one time I forgot them, I left a noticeable trail of water as I left the CG.

That could be the issue, since I live on a steep hill and tend to also drive it into some crazy spots. Any advice on size of corks.

The capacity of the water lines is almost nil. Probably less than 1 gallon in all your lines combined. I'm guessing you have the overflow siphon problem oldmanAZ described. He also described the solution. We had the same problem on our travel trailer.

Have you considered how much it takes to fill the water heater? Probably 6 to 10 gallons of it goes right there.

Running the shower and the faucet until they run with normal flow would probably help too.

Would the shower and faucet filling be with changing it to city fixture and then running those? Or, I suppose the other way would be to turn the controls to normal and run the pump a bit to get it through those lines. If so, which is better.

Also, this Jayco has hot water on demand so it shouldn't be a hot water tank issue.

There been many reports of water siphoning out of the fresh tank overflow tube on the road.

Most have stopped it by putting a cork or a valve on the overflow. You just have to be careful to open it before filling.

Most of us only carry enough water for an occasional flush on the road and never have the problem.
