Fresh water drain

I wish my 2015 owners manual was made for my 2015 Greyhawk. The manual says there is a valve on the outside of the camper labeled "fresh water drain". The only valve I can find on my camper is labeled "low point drain". The manual also indicates that there are two more low point drains but I can't find them either. I am using the low point to drain my fresh water tank. Anyone know where they hid the one labeled "fresh water drain?"

I believe that's it Rick. My TT says the same thing. "low point drain". That's what you're draining from the coach at the low point drain..fresh water.

In our FK we have two knobs in a rear compartment that are the low drains. The FW drain is poorly positioned on the side connected to a hose that runs in front of the rear driver wheels.

I have a melbourn 29d and fresh water drain is right under drivers side close to drivers door right off the tank itself. I have a problem with the pump not picking up and proving fresh water. I replaced the water pump but it seems to run backwards and build up air pressure in the pipes. Is there a backflow preventer or check valve on top of the fresh water tank that can stop up?

I found the two valves in the storage bin. What a crazy place to put them. I do not know if there is any kind of backflow preventer but there is a screen type filter on the input side of the pump itself.

Welcome to the forum.

It might be best to start a new topic in this 'Jayco Motorhome' area. Posting new questions in an existing topic (like Fresh water drain for a Greyhawk in this case) can get overlooked.

I'm new to this forum, too, but haven't needed to ask many questions... yet. There maybe guidelines somewhere, but I don't recall.

There a lots of helpful people on this site and will certainly try to help when they see your question.

It seems to me like our '12 31SS has a fresh water drain on the driver's side, just forward of the rear cargo door. The low point drains are on the passenger side, inside one of the storage compartments.

On my 33RLDS it was in a hidden compartment under the shower that I found by accident. Dealer didn't show me much as the dude didn't seem to know much.

33 RLDS -- sad, your dealer was paid by Jayco to do a QUALITY demo / delivery.

Ineed help. Filling up my x23b and it just drains back out. The water heater fills but no pressure anywhere. There are two "drains" outside that don't have any caps or valves to shut them off. The water just drains back out when the pump is on.

Find the low point drain valves inside your camper and close them (or open and close them to seat the valves)
Unfortunately, they are not marked. Just a couple of valves on the hot and cold lines (lowest point) that open downwards. You'll have to hunt to find them. Better yet ask the individual that winterized the camper last fall.

Thanks. We had to fill it because we are having a problem with our well and have no water in the house. Lucky for us my mom lives next door. Country living

There should be separate sets of drain valves for "Low Point" and "Fresh Water." The Fresh Water Drain Valves only drain the fresh water tank(s) (I have two - one for each fresh water tank.) The Low Point Drain Valves only drain the hot water and cold water circuits for kitchen sink, bathroom sink, toilet, shower, and any other faucet (outside shower, etc.) The Low Point Drain Valves will not drain your fresh water tanks - or at least they shouldn't, in my experienced opinion.

LOL.....

I found mine the same way...I was inspecting the underbelly and saw the handles! I was not told about them from my dealer....but I was given a sheet on how to winterize my trailer and written in hand writing was the location of these as well as many other things that pertained to my trailer.

FYI...

I have no drain valves labeled 'Fresh Water' but have two areas labeled 'Low Point' on the outside of my trailer. One 'Low Point' has 2 valves that drain the 2 fresh water tanks (1 valve per tank). Those valves are accessible from outside the trailer. When sanitizing the water system, I drained both tanks (and carried most of the 80gallons -with bleach- that carried to the curb ) so I KNOW they are fresh water drain valves.

The other 'Low Point' should be the low point for the hot and cold water lines. I believe this to be the case, but I have not drained those yet. Also, on my trailer, those valves are actually inside, under the bathroom sink.

Seems Jayco may have some variability in valve naming etc.

i think the factory must have been out of the "Fresh Water Drain" labels when they built your trailer - or there was somebody new there that didn't know. (Or maybe it was built on a Monday. LOL!)

Mine are labeled Fresh Water Drain and Low point Drain. I have seen this observation in another thread - both being labeled as Low Point Drains.

Very likely... a different kind of 'sticker shock.'
