Fridge Fan

Anybody install a fridge fan in their stock Jayco Norcold? I'm looking for feedback as to whether or not its worth it. And if so, what version you installed (preferably easy/no wire cutting involved to hose my warranty).

Also, anybody install one on the BACK of the fridge outside?

Yes I installed one in the back compartment. Found later there was already a factory installed one. LOL

If you are in a Hot season all the time it will help to cool the condenser airflow on the back of the Fridge. The mfg. doesn't have it as a recommendation so it is up to the individual. A 12 volt computer fan doesn't draw very much amps.

This doesn't go on the back, but it looks like a nice piece of kit. Not sure how it actually improves things in the real world though:

Inside is the Evaporator (inside compartment) - Outside is the condenser (back of the fridge outside compartment)
Myself I wouldn't install the inside one if your Fridge is working proper.

I have one inside the frid it clips to the metal heat sink, I like it, it helps keep the temps a bit more consistent. I feed the light weight wire through the condensate drain, and tied the main power to the Frig's DC power point. The negative connection is made by the alligator clip to the heat sink. When I want it to work I just clip it to the heat sink, when I do not need it, I unclip it.

I found it on Ebay, it cost about $10-12, I did not see it when I just tried doing a quick look.

I also have the internal fan like Jagiven mentioned. It works well and keeps the temp more consistent from top to bottom. It also reduces ice build up on the fins.

I am planning on wiring in a couple muffin fans in my fridge's chimney on a thermal sensor and switch this summer to improve cooling.

I put one in our old hybrid. Just a cheap computer fan that I wired in to the fridge light before the switch so it had power whenever the fridge was turned on. I stuck it to the fins with double sided tape. It worked well and wasn't a permanent install, so it came out easily when we traded.

I installed one similar to this one. Dometic Evaporator Fan Greater inside Cooling Deluxe Model - RV Cooling Unit Warehouse
I wired this fan up by running a wire down the condensate drain hose (same as Jagiven) to a switch I put in the accessible area behind the fridge.

I also discovered that on the 29MV there's a fan close to the vent at the top of the RV. This fan never did come on so I replaced the thermostat that runs this fan with a fuse. I ran the wire down to the same switch I put behind the lower vent to control the fan that I put inside the fridge.
