I'm looking into taking a trip to the Grand Canyon any suggestions where to stay and what to do Traveling in 31 foot Greyhawk

Trailer Campground. South Rim

On the shuttle route
Not as nice as neighboring Mather Your rig is too big for most Mather sites but would fit some
Reservations absolutely necessary
If all booked up save for handicapped sites it IS legal to book a disabled site. However if a vacancy happens you can be booted to that site.
Which might be for a small RV or tent
Tusayan just south of the park has RV camping and on a shuttle route too

We usually stay within the park at Trailer Village, it's the only campground within the park with full hookups. You will want at least power to run your a/c just in case the heat comes in.

Once you are in the park there is a free shuttle from the campground to all the vista views and town. So no more driving if you don't want to deal with parking.

Trailer Village is not the most beautiful but functional. They have restrooms but not showers. You have to go to Mather for showers which is a dry camping campground. If you stay at Trailer Village ask for an end spot since they are all pull thru spots this way you only have one person on one side.

We prefer dispersed camping at the North Rim. Never an issue with finding a place and everything is free.
There is also one official campground but we have never stayed there; https://www.campendium.com/north-rim-campground

We've stayed at the Williams, AZ KOA Circle Pines. Beautiful campground - about an hour's drive to the entrance but worth the drive. Also close to Sedona, Flagstaff, Seligman (Route 66 town that's been preserved). Very nice indoor pool, miniature golf course, activities for kids. There's a really nice little nature trail behind the KOA property and you're within 5 minutes of Williams, a really cute little town. One time we hopped the Grand Canyon Railroad in Williams and rode into the park that way. It was great. We're heading that way again in July. Just a note: there's another KOA in the Williams area - we don't like it!

And the North and South Rims are a day's drive from each other

It can get cold. We never ran a/c but did use furnace a lot. Lows were around freezing two weeks ago. It's quite high Phoenix like temps unlikeky

Where every go from Mid June to Mid August I would have a reservation. Especially in tourist areas. At the campgrounds we worked at the last few years, were almost always full during those peak times. Enjoy your trip !
