Gray water

This morning after we used the sinks in the bathroom and kitchen we began smelling a bad order.
I have both the gray and black water valves shut. I dump every time we use the motorhome which is only our fourth trip. Any ideas on what it could be.

May have lost the "water trap seal " in the "P" trap under the sinks. try running a bit of water down the drain to see if it stops the smell.

Jimp is correct. We have septic at home. We have to run water in all tubs, showers, and sinks from time to time to keep the traps wet. If they dry out, they tend to shrink a bit. Running water reseals the traps.

Besides evaporation of trap water below drains over time, you can also suck the water out of the drains when emptying by vacuum caused when emptying and it sucking the water out of the drains. The Pinesol is a great solution. Any oily substance that will sit on top of the water in the drain traps will help prevent odor.
