Help? Buying 2015 soft spot in near toilet 31FS

I'm looking to purchase a:

Used 2015 31FS with 12k on it.

The only thing I've found wrong is a soft sport on the floor between the toilet and shower. Has anyone else seen this problem before? If so was it a big deal?

Are there any other known items I should be taking another look at?

Any known water leaks or problems?

Am I just better off buying a 2016?
I know about the possibility of a vibration in the driveline.

Need someone with experience....

Thank you

Soft spots on the floor in any used RV are a sign that closer inspection is needed. Yes it should be a concern.

Welcome to the JOF.

X2 on what norty1 said.

That vibration is/was a Ford issue. From what I've read on this forum, Ford is taking care of those problems.

With a 2016 (new, I assume) you will have Jayco's warranty. Can you 'self insure' with the money you'll save buying a used unit?

I know what your saying..... It's a $6,999 difference between new and used. There are things I like better about the 2015 vs 2016. But then again with the 2016 being new you have peice of mind.....

I would buy the 2016 and negotiate hard! I have a 2014 31FS and have had issues with a leak in the back wall and have a soft spot as well. However, I am getting my RV shipped back to the factory at the end of April for review and repair. That 2 year warranty is worth it. Otherwise I like the RV and the amenities. good luck!

With the 2016 you'll get the 6 speed transmission... It is an incredible difference! It's quieter, gets better mileage, doesn't shift as much, super downhill engine braking. We were astonished in the difference between our 2015 and the 2016 that we just got. WOW!

The issue with the drive shaft balancing was solved, and our unit had been re-balanced, and is fine.

From what I have heard, the six-speed transmission is a nice upgrade. And I do like the two-year warranty.

Our Greyhawk is 19 months old and still under warranty. Lucky thing, too. The last trip the generator would stop running and we dropped it yesterday at the Cummins-Onan service center in Kenly, NC. After that it is going to our dealer to replace the converter that also went out and, hopefully, replace the tankless water heater which would randomly fail to ignite... Usually when someone wanted to begin the rinse phase of a shower. A two-year warranty is a great thing.
