Help with deadbolt on entry door

I just purchased a 2014 Seneca with a Dexter keyless entry and a Bauer entry door handle and lock, I think. When you try to engage the deadbolt fro either the outside or inside it springs back into the unlock position. This whole lock thing is driving me crazy and due to I need to use the MH this weekend with not way to lock it from the inside.

Not trying to be a smart A but can lock from the outside and re-enter through cab door until you get it resolved?

You should have two spring-loaded pins on the door which mate up with two pads on the door jamb (hinge side). This is where the 12-volt power is passed to the door lock assembly. Put electric tape over the pads and it will temporarily cut off power to the door lock and (hopefully) allow you to use the door. Take tape with you, the pins will cut through the tape and make contact again as you use the door. You also could locate the door fuse (above the coach batteries) and take it out to stop it definitively until a permanent fix is made.

My unit is at the factory service center in Middlebury right now getting a whole new entry door (under warranty) since after many attempts they could never get the Dexter to work for more than a few weeks. I will have a new door with the battery operated keyless lock. But these newer locks have their problems too according to these forums.

I forgot to mention that one time I had the same problem you describe, I could not lock the deadbolt, the electric would continually force it to the unlocked position. A new keypad fixed that issue, it apparently shorted out in the "unlock" position. But weeks later it went the other way, when I would try to close the door as soon as the pins made contact the deadbolt would jump out and you could not close the door! That time it shorted in the "lock" position. Lastly it just plain would not lock or unlock the deadbolt. I went through 5 keypads that I knew of.

It seems the weak link is the Dexter keypad itself, not the Bauer lock according to my local dealer.
