House Batt connected to rear view and side mirror camera is this normal?

I have a Jayco 2010 grey hawk I'm the second owner. Question concerning the Magellan system mine is hooked up to the house Batt is this normal. If i dry camp and the Batt gets low my rear and side cameras do not work. should it not be hooked to the vehicle Batt.

I can't answer specifically for the Greyhawk, but on our Seneca the Clarion head unit in the dash (which is also the GPS) is powered by the house 12v system, not the chassis. I don't know for sure about the cameras, but I'm willing to bet they're on the house circuit as well.

The only time you really need the cameras is when you're driving and you're house batteries will be getting charged by the alternator when the engine is running.

That would be my guess on the radio/DVD player. The converters on most coaches charge only the house batteries when plugged into shore power. You wouldn't want to be in a situation where you deplete the chassis battery while camping due to use of the radio/DVD.

We have the Jensen JRV215N stereo/camera/bluetooth/auxiliary speaker unit in our dash. It does so many things, I really don't know what to call it. However, related to this post, I am amazed at how much of the time it is on. And since it always has the time and date posted on it, when off, I'm guessing it is powered up 100% of the time. Ours is hooked to our TV and house speakers, so with either the TV on or the Sirius XM stereo providing music, it is on close to 100% of the time. I just wondered, yesterday, how long will this thing last if it is always on. So with all that babbling, I'm thinking that is why it is powered through the house batteries and therefore hooked up to the demand battery charger/converter.
