instant on water heater FYI

FYI. We were having a problem with our instant on water heater. Discovered that using a water pressure regulator limited the pressure so much that the heater would not turn on. Removed the regulator, limited the water pressure at the facet, and have not had a problem since. Still limit pressure flow in the system but have to do it manually. So far no additional problems. Just wanted to share for what it's worth.

That's good info. I recently purchased an adjustable pressure regulator with a gauge. Allows me to set the pressure high enough for the water heater to work, but still regulate the pressure. Works pretty well.

What do you do when running off the pump?

What is the pressure that you are setting it to in order for the water heater to work? I have a pre-set regulator that is set at approx 50 psi. Do you think this is enough?

I would think 50 would be plenty. I've set mine as high as 60 but anything at 40 or above seems to work fine. I think the manual states 40 but I've seen lot of folks on here say they've went higher.

Many places we go are pushing 40 psi water pressure. Purchasing a rig with a on demand water heater would be a deal breaker for me.
