Internal Slide "Gutters"- source of leak

Just came from the dealer. They were inspecting the slide issues I posted a few weeks back and found the source of my leak. The corners of the slides have small catch basins or gutters beneath them. In mine they are about 3 inches long. They are internal and cannot be seen from the outside or when the slide is fully deployed.

The source of my leak was that Jayco had never completed the installation and put drainage holes in the gutter, therefore it overflowed inside my rig. They told me that mine was the third one this year that they had seen at the dealership.

If you want to inspect your slides. The gutter can be found from the inside, it is just a folded piece of aluminum with caps on the ends. The hole, if present, is visible from outside. The ones that were properly completed were in the trim below the slide 3-4" in from the edge. They were a slash, created by a punch, a little more then a 1/4" long.

Sorry no photos, the dealer has it for the next 3 weeks. Hopefully finishing off my rather lengthy list of problems.

We have a 31 FK with a mystery leak on our slide wall . I've copied your post to our service writer to have our tech (they have mobile techs) investigate if this is the source of our problem. Thank you for sharing!
