Question Inverter replacement

My OEM Xantrex HI 400 inverter has failed and I need to replace it. My Jayco dealer quoted me a ridiculous price and I am hoping to replace it myself. I don't need much in the way of wattage, 400 to 1000w would fine, as we are almost always plugged in, but once in awhile it would be nice to dry camp in a National Park.

Any suggestions on a replacement inverter? Anyone done the replacement themselves?

Any help will be appreciated

i'm considering a 1000w or 1500w magnum power inverter/charger but still researching. I'm trying to get a list of all the appliances that make up the electrical load to figure out what i really want vs need. magnum power seems to be getting excellent reviews from honest sources, have really good customer service, and is made in the usa (parts readily avail too!). xantrex, victron, outback are other brands i'm looking at...

definitely on the things to do is to move that inverter from the back of the coach to up front right next to the house battery where it belongs. part of my research is also on battery bank sizing and how to mount it on my rig ('07 31ss). i'm looking for an enclosure box (vented and weatherproof) that can be mounted next to the existing battery box with sliding tray..
