At 68 years old one might think I know how to measure a Automotive rim.... yeah right.
I called Hub City Ford (truck parts) and inquired about a rim as a spare for the coach. I told him that the sticker on the drivers door indicated the ford chasse had 16x6 rims. He asked for the last eight digits of the VIN, and verified he located the part number.
He said he would have to order the rim, and I could expect two days for the arrival.
I received a phone call this morning. The rim is in. In picking it up I asked, "this is a 16x6 right.."? He said yes. I take it home, opened the box, I measured the back side of the rim because it's straight across, and it measures 17 inches. It's too late to call Parts, so I will have to wait until Monday (I'm busy tomorrow).
I measured the rear rim on the coach at the same point I measured the new rim .....17".
SO, Where does one get a measurement of 16" on this rim...??? Do I have the right rim .....?? Does Ford make a 17" rim for the E450 Cut-away....?
Totally confused here.....!!!!!
