Jayco Factory Tour

Well we went to Jayco yesterday and got a tour of the Seneca line. The tour was incredible. It was very interesting to see how these things are put together. It was an hour long, but I could have spent all day in there. Ours was already of the line and it the paint shop, so we couldn't see it. I was told by the Jayco rep that there isn't much changing in the 2018's. The two big changes are:

Going to a removable Garmin control panel in the dash. It's the RV version for navigation.
Going to a new instant hot water heater (I believe Truma)

Nice to hear that you enjoyed the tour. I thought about going this week as my 37TS is allegedly coming off the line as well. I just couldn't find a reasonable airfare from Florida to justify the visit.

Good to hear that they are changing the water heater and nav screen as those are two complaints I have read about.

Please keep us posted on the progress of your Seneca.

Thanks, Mark

No problem. Our completion date is May 3rd, so we'll see what happens.

They told us yesterday that they run 28 of the same model type down the line at a time. So there were only about 8 37TS units left on the line, so you may also be in painting or we saw your unit on the line.

So it's in paint now and won't be finished until May 3rd, or is that your pick up date?

That is our completion date. It can be in paint for up to 4 weeks. Then it goes through an internal PDI. So the dealer said they should have it by the second week of May. We are only 2-1/2 hours away from the factory, so our dealer grabs it in one day.

Thanks. We have a Precept on order and have been given a build date of April 27th, then paint. We were told we could expect delivery mid to late May, but maybe I should expect June.

I saw some gorgeous Precepts parked outside the construction building on Monday, it is in very close proximity of the Visitor's Center.

That place is massive. We were all the way on the south side of the campus. There were some beautiful Senecas, Precepts, and Entegras all ready to be shipped out.

Heading out to Jayco from NJ on 8th, dropping off our 35UN for some spider cracks around windshield, having Valve Stem extenders installed, And a wheel well secured properly. Love the area, RV's everywhere! Going to take advantage and head to the RV museum, the to the Great Wolf Lodge in Sandusky for 3 days, Our 10 year old daughter will love it. We have done the factory tour before, it was awesome. loved it. and of course we have to visit the Jayco Store for a few items!

It's about the same for us. I would definitely go out there again. The merchandise is priced very well at the visitor center. I would like to tour the Entegra line. We're about 45 miles west of Chicago, Plainfield area.

Safe travels. We are going to try and get out to Sandusky this summer. My DD meet some people at Yellowstone that she still keeps in touch with. They live out near Sunduskey.

Just got off the phone with Jayco and got my VIN. Also they confirmed the two changes you said, Garmin GPS, exclusive for Jayco and Truma water heater.

The Garmin unit was pretty cool. Can't wait to get my hands on it. The water heater is another big deal. With all the issues we had with ours in the Greyhawk, I can't wait to have normal hot water.
