Jensen JRV215N Radio

I've been reading posts about updating the Nav portion of the radioand probably have that figured out. Having said that, I can't get the micro sd card out of the unit to update. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Did you try pushing in and let it "Pop out" ? Be ready t catch it!

And you probably already tried "tweezers".

Yes, I tried both of those options. I am told that there is a removal tool for the micro sd chip, but I haven't found that yet either.
Thanks, I'll keep reading.

You have to push it in quite far. It'll take more than your finger to push it in far enough.

Ok, thanks to all of you helping, my map got updated. After registering with Naviextras and picking the Jensen model number (which is listed on their Web site incorrectly) mine was JRV215N they show JRV213VN. I downloaded the Naviextras Toolkit and it allowed me to pick the updates I wanted. Free software updates were not available, who didn't know that, so I picked the map updates I wanted and 4 others for POIs and 3D imaging and it cost $87. 00. It all downloaded on my micro sd card and now I am current as of the 3rd quarter of 2015. That is their latest update. I just have to put the sd card back into the radio and I should be good.

I think you'll find that $87 is for the one update. That's why most use a separate GPS with free updates.

I don't understand it. I went online and registered and updated my GPS files at no charge!. Maybe things have changed?

I updated ours at no charge as well. The negative is that they do not provide vital information such as height restrictions, etc.. We purchased the Garmin for RV/Trucks and it is great.

Hoping for some help here for my new coach. I tried to update the maps with naviextras. It worked except now I see no US roads. Hoping to get a copy back of at least the old maps if anyone has it. ASA, Navi and Jayco thus far have not been helpful in getting this resolved.

caroga, Which model Garmin did you purchase? Its time to upgrade from my older Nuvi and this sounds like the way to go.

Thanks

Garmin

The Garmin RV760 LMT eliminated all of that frustration- the factory unit is less than I would hope in a unit of this price point - 5 RV dealers tried to fix ours & finally Jayco sent a new unit ( wrong wiring plugs ) so 7 months later I still have a POS unit

I have a 2017 with the Jensen and didn't know about the SD card thing. If I could back you guys up a bit, where is the card and how do you get to it? Do you need to pull the unit out?

Look very closely just to the left of the screen and below the knobs. You'll find the card there. You have to push it in to release it. Unless you have a long fingernail, you can't release it with your finger as it has to be pushed in quite a ways. Be prepared for it to pop out.

See if this helps.

Thank you guys. I used the Jensen on my long voyage home with the rig and did not like it at all. I'm going to get the Garmin RV/truck also.
