LED's for a 2009 Greyhawk 31fs

Hi all, newbie here and proud owner of a new to me 09 Greyhawk. Did a full 6 day boondock campout deep woods and tested all systems. Everything works, not one issue was found. Drives like a dream (only 9k on odometer) compared to my old 93 class c.

Wanted to know if anyone with 09 Greyhawk has upgraded interior lights to LED's. The incandescent bulbs appear to be a studded verity, (glass studs with no casing) and not sure what type to order online? If anyone has any suggestions or experience with these. Owners manual not much on the lighting.

Thanks

$11 per bulb!?! That's crazy....

I just replaced all my wedge bulbs in our landscape lighting... and in our 5'er with these (link below). At $25 per 10-pack.... you can't beat them and they are the warm white color as well.

They are pricey yes, but they look like the ones you pulled out. No drop in brightness, etc. Unless you were really staring at the cups you wouldn't know there weren't stock 921 bulbs in there. It was worth it to me.

The pricey ones have lots more LEDs on them.

I haven't noticed a drop in brightness either. If it works it works...
My main concern was making sure the light color was in that 3200-3500 range. I can't stand that "blue" LED light color....

But at $50 for twenty bulbs as opposed to $220 for twenty bulbs... I'd say it's worth the gamble.

Regardless, always good to have an option.

I'll voice my opinion that converting LED's is not worth it.

Very expensive to save 90% of the electricity spent on lighting (a very small portion of the total electrical 'budget').

Then you wind up with very harsh, bright light.

I upgraded some fixtures in my 1983 vintage TT because the original fixtures were failing. My 2015 TT came equipped with all LED lighting and we find it very unpleasant when it is dark outside.

We are converting over to oil lamps for the dining area this year.

Though, the LED lamp over the sink for washing dishes is GREAT!

Like I said, not worth the money to convert if the incandescent fixtures are operating properly.

Some specs for the bulbs I mentioned:

Item Number 921-10-5630-WW
Color Kelvin 3200k
Calculated Lumens 350
Visible Light 1.1x as bright as average incandescent
Amps at 12.0v DC (Fluke Actual) 0.13
Rated Volts 10-30v DC
Polarity Non Polarity
Overall Length 1 1/4"
Overall Width (or diameter) 1/2"
Overall Height n/a

I grabbed these because my motorhome has MANY lights, and my kids are pretty bad w/ turning them off. I have read that the amp draw from a incandescent 921 bulb is ~1.4 amps !!! On a 30 amp service it wasn't taking long for my kids to suck down 10 amps by leaving lights on all over the place. Plus the heat the bulbs put out is pretty hefty.

Yeah. Heat was my main reason for switching as well. Some of those 921 bulbs get so dang hot they turn black and start melting the housings.

I'm surprised that their haven't been more fires attributed to them...

Heck, the reading lights above our bed... you'd darn near burn your hand on the fixture trying to turn them off if you weren't looking at what you were doing....

I changed all my G4 halogens and the reading lights to reduce heat. It was not expensive and I never burn my fingers.

Thanks! Just ordered on prime. We do a lot of boondocking and I like to avoid using the genny when possible.

Hope you like them...
I was skeptical at first when I got them --- but after seeing them hold up through rain in our open landscape lights --- I was sold.

My brother just changed out his whole TT with these as well...

Good luck!
