Angry Muffler/Gen set

Anyone put a muffler on their genset? Dang thing is loud!

Tom I have often thought about attaching a large can full of steel wool to the existing muffler on my home gen set. Of course when I'm thinking about it it's storming out and can't do it. When the storm clears and the gen set is off I don't remember my previous thoughts so nothing is done. Maybe a younger mind can follow thru. larry

I bought a cheap car muffler and using some flex pipe connected it to the spark arrester on my gen set... for the few times I need a gen..
2004 Chev Silverado Duramax optioned past the max. 2009 Jayco Eagle 308 RLS 765 watts of solar, 6-6 volt batteries (696 amp hour), 2000 watt (4000 surge) whole house inverter.
140 days boondocking in 2016
