my Brake Buddy operation

I sent my Brake Buddy in for repair. The compressor was replaced, along with the air regulator. I bought it in a non operation condition. I plugged it in, and the compressor pumps up to 40 psi. but keeps running. Shouldn't the compressor shut off after the compressor is reached? Stan

Normal is about 70 or 80. Sounds like a low voltage condition or too small a wire supplying receptacle.

The pressure regulator is just not set higher. Voltage is good, size is good. I will crank up the pressure. Stan

Regulator does not control shut off point, that only controls the pressure on the ram. I had a similar situation and BB said to wire a receptacle direct to b battery using 12 guage wire.

Here is what I found. When the pressure hit the set point which in my case was 40 psi. I expected the pump to shut off. I contacted BB I didn't realize the air tank had to pump up to 95 psi. If had waited the unit would have shut off, which it did. I may need to come directly off the battery anyway, because what little running I did testing it, the cig lighter connection got rather warm.
