Congrats on the new unit ,and yes an air horn upgrade is a good start. If I hit mine with the hood open it almost makes my ears bleed lol. I followed Robbbyr's instruction's,he is a great source of information

I'm torn between a Seneca and a Dynamax Force HD with the two different engine sizes, can any Seneca owner tell me if the Seneca has enough HP for the mountain's, I'm planning on towing a 2 door Wrangled behind it. Thanks in advance.

While I could always wish for more power, last summer we took a 5,000 mile trip out west towing our 5,000 lb. Explorer and did fine on all the grades including the one up to the Eisenhower/Johnson tunnels on I-70 in Colorado. Of course I wasn't able to maintain the posted speed limit all the time, but still passed most semis when they were lugging. So my opinion is "yes, it is enough"!

Seneca vs force hd

Another thing swaying me towards a Seneca is the heated seats, I don't know why the force hd model doesn't offer them yet?

I had the same concerns about enough power in the Seneca. We chose to go ahead with the Seneca since it is 45k cheaper. After one trip I'm not disappointed and honestly don't want to go any faster than we did. I find 65 is a comfortable speed while 70 gets a little squirly. Did hit 75 once or twice, but it's just too fast for how light these things are and how much wind pushes them.

My 2014 doesn't have heated seats, is it something offered in the new ones? I had not heard that!

Did you look at the Dynamax? Are you happy with the Seneca quality?

I did not look at the Dynamax while shopping in 2013/2014, I had focused on the Thor F-Super Duty-based Super Cs and the Freightliner-based Senecas and the Cargo Carrying Capacity of the Seneca sold me on the Jayco. I also wanted a cabover bunk and I can't say that I remember the Dynamax line having such a model at that time. I could be wrong, I just don't remember seeing one in my research.

I can say, that while I have had some issues that needed repaired under warranty, in my opinion my Seneca is put together far better than my previous 2006 Chateau Class C or my 1992 Gulfstream Class C were.

Yes on my 2018 the seats are heated in the summer and I believe cooled in the winter. Lol. No, mine does not have either. I would love cooled seats.

The mirrors are heated.

Heated seats started being installed in 2016 models.

Air seats were only provided in 2016 and were in fact heated. In 2017 they switched to a seat that matches the interior leather. I believe this is a power flexsteel product. I have not seen anything on this model that states it is heated but have been known to be wrong in the past.

It seems the air suspended and heated seats only lasted a year, then they went back to the style that matches the other upholstery like the earlier Freightliner-based Senecas. My seats are the power Flexsteel with adjustable armrests on both sides.

I wonder why they went back?

Fine with me that they did. The Flexsteel seats are very comfortable and the air seat just provides another source for a potential secondary air leak.

Were the air brakes tossed after 2016? That would explain the switch back.

2017 has air brakes. I believe 2018 does as well.
