With RV on no change. I followed the wiring until it reached some cable sheath and then hard to follow. But nothing before it links up with generator cable. And that little solenoid has 3 fuses. 5 amp, 7.5, and 25. It clicks when I hit the main disconnect and nothing.

12 Volt System On My RV Does Not Work When Not Plugged Into 120 Volts

Maybe the batteries are completely fried-- check the water level on the battery.

Hi TIMBO,

In the battery compartment, that device behind the battery, is the battery disconnect solenoid, not the slide out motor. There are two fuses on it, the 7.5 amp fuse should be for the chassis radio, keyless entry and automatic leveller control panel, if you have this option installed. The other fuse is a 5 amp fuse used to close the contacts on the battery disconnect solenoid, when you activate the momentary main power switch and the red light should come on. If the red light doesn't come on then you may want to check the 5 amp fuse as your disconnect solenoid may not be closing, in which case, you will get no 12VDC from the battery. Your AC systems and converter will continue to operate, when plugged in to shore power, even if your DC systems don't work. Hope this helps. Cheers.

Okay solved it. Definitely had something to do with the solenoid. I took battery out. (Still plugged in shore power). Cleaned contacts. Re seated fuses. Started plugging solenoid back in, furnace kicked in!! Plugged up battery tested charging. All is well now. But in this process I learned all sorts of stuff about my rig. So. No costs other than time and some dirt. Gained tons of knowledge.

thanks for the follow up, many will no doubt be able to learn from your experience.
While you are at it, I recommend you check the connections of every wirenut, screw terminal, chassis ground, breaker, etc that you can find.
I did this on my trailer, when I first got it, and found several sketchy connections, including the chassis ground from the battery.

Well I tried with only context clues I saw that motor and it looked like my slide out motor, maybe I should have looked closer, but it was late, and I was trying to help you. Sorry.

No no. It still made me look and verify things. Nothing wrong with questions right? I appreciated that you were trying so late to help. Thank you.

Just seeing this thread now...sorry I could have prob helped earlier. Your right on the solenoid being the issue. More than likely someone may have accidentally held down the main power switch for more than one second. If that happens it basically disables the solenoid until you remove power from the solenoid to reset it...you have to disconnect the battery to do that if I recall correctly. I only know this as I just got my rig and read a good chunk of the manual. I have a Seneca but ours have the same basic systems.

Disconnect solenoid

2013 Redhawk 31xl wire issue on solenoid. Facing solenoid red and yellow butt connected to red wire going to fuse. Corrosion caused wires to come apart. Is this how they should be put back together? Thanks in advance for any help

check your DC relay, which controls dc voltage to coach light and fridge.
Hold the DC on/off switch on, and see if lights come on. if so, DC relay probably needs replaced. two things can happen to the relay....the coil can burn out, not letting the relay energize.....or.....the contacts on relay can get pitted and not let current pass, causing coach dc not to work. good luck

Millhunk, on my 2015 Greyhawk, the red wire from the fuse is butt connected to the red/yellow wire. The red/yellow wire is for the chassis radio, keyless entry and auto leveler control on my rig. Power for these systems is provided through the 7.5 amp fuse from the battery disconnect solenoid when the solenoid is turned on. On your rig, the red/yellow may power other systems, but it should provide power for the dash radio when the main power switch by the entry door is powered on. Cheers.
