Non-Limited slip differential in Jayco motorhomes

Hi Jayco chose to delete the $260 optional Ford factory limited slip differential from the chassis build. I would guess they did the same thing with the Freightliner chassis. We receive snow here and even if we do not get it in the lowlands it always snows in the mountain passes. We also have very steep grades (like 22% side streets) that when wet can be scary with an open differential. I am considering having the Ford factory limited slip differential installed. Does anyone have any comments? Has anyone done this?
Thanks!

They didn't delete it, it was an option. They chose not to add the cost to the MH.

Unfortunately it costs $2600 to add it back. If you plan on using your Redhawk or Greyhawk in snow, ice or the mountains it is critical to have posi traction. Chains and studded snow tires can go only so far with an open rear differential.
