Angry On board 30 amp breaker throws

I have a 2010 Grey hawk a recent purchase. 1st outing with AC on and using microwave we threw the on board 30 amp breaker, went to reset and the area around the 30 amp breaker in breaker box was veery warm. Is this normal heat and shouldn't the the breaker handle this amount of power usage. Not sure if breaker is bad or not how to test.

Thank you.

Had a 2011 Greyhawk. It had 2 issues. AC blew the 30 amp breaker. Went to check it found a wire loose in the box. It was also warm. Fixed that the breaker blew anyway. Put in a new breaker no more problems.

When you add up all of the on-board 120VAC appliances wattage numbers you will find it does indeed exceed the 30AMP MAIN BREAKER capacity.

You may have been running too many things at the same time or perhaps the incoming 120VAC from the pedestal is somewhat on the low side. This will also make your appliances draw more current...

If the camp ground pedestal 30AMP Service connection is worn and not making good contact with your shore power plug will also cause this same thing...

I keep a good watch on the 120VAC status by using an inexpensive RV 120VAC PLUG-IN AC VOLTMETER. This model has the SAFE ZONE painted in GREEN and we can do a quick glance at the meter before we turn on something that is high wattage like the Microwave when the Air Conditioner was already running...

In most cases 30 amps will cover the air conditioner and the microwave. What usually gets you unexpectedly is the water heater decides it wants to run. That will take you over the edge and trip the breaker. That has only happened to me once. Most of the time the water heater and the microwave will not be on at the same time.

A coffee maker can also throw you over the limit if AC and microwave are running...Have tripped mine a few times.

This past weekend we had the AC, coffee pot, fridge and possibly the microwave all running at one time or another, no breaker issues. Not sure if all of the above were going at the exact same time, but a definite possibility. I would check the breaker for a loose wire, and probably change it out. They can go "bad" so to speak.
