overfilled engine oil

I got in a hurry, and over filled my v 10 engine by about 1/2 qt. The level is about 1/4in. over the max line. As the oil heats the level will increase a little more. I can remove the drain plug and drain some out, but I can see me dropping the plug, and draining all the oil out. Think it's anything to worry about? Stan

Doubt you will have a problem. I had a dealer do the same thing to me and no adverse affects. Let it run a while and see where it settles after it cools.

it's fine. just run it and change your oil at the next interval and be more careful.

if you are really paranoid, there is a oil vacuum extractor pump that you lets you suck out the oil from the dipstick tube. you can vacuum only the amount you want and stop... again, not necessary in my opinion.
