Passenger Window

I have been having problems with the passenger window in my 2014 Seneca FK. It goes down just fine but it will not always go back up.

Any suggestion of where to begin troubleshooting?

I had the same problem with the right window. It would go down but not up. The dealer grabbed the top of the glass and pressed the up button and pulled it up. He said the frame was to tight. He took the door apart and adjusted the frame. It then worked a few weeks just fine. Last week it would not come up again. I pulled on it and pushed the up switch but it still would not come up. I let it sit for about 30 minutes, turned on the ignition again and hit the up switch about 30 times and it started up. I closed it completely and will not put it down again until I'm back at the dealers. There is a thermal switch in the motor, it could be bad or the up switch may also be bad. At any rate I won't mess with it until I get home.

Seneca window

I had the same problem in my 2014 Seneca and rather than deal with Freightliner, I purchased and installed a new switch for $21 from Amazon. Presto-Chango! It's 10 torx screws to get to it. My plastic dash was crumbling at the screw locations when I had it apart, so went to Freightliner anyway. The service writer said they had seen a few with the same problem. New dash-no squeaks. $1800 warranty issue.

Mine is doing the same. Trying to get it to the Freightliner shop. Right window, 2014 Jayco 37FS.

Same problem here on my 2014 fs, had both switches replaced under warranty, passenger window was the worst offender.

My cab windows seem to come up much slower than they go down, but they never have stopped part way. For those that had bad switches replaced, do you notice any improvement in how quickly they come back up?

Seems the switches are a weak point, now wondering if I should get a spare just in case............

The passenger window on our 2015 Seneca had the same problem - window came down, but wouldn't always come back up. Turned out to be a bad switch.

My did the same thing. New switch and regulator. Now the drivers side is doing it also. Just gonna fix it myself. By the time I figure fuel and travel time it costs more to have Freightliner do it.

After reading all of these posts, Ive opted to order an additional switch and replace both when I have the dash out. This has been very helpful. 55 miles one way and a day off from work to the nearest Freightliner Repair Center...

Changed both switches out this weekend. Took about 30 minutes. Great tip on the switch from Amazon. Works perfectly now. Thank you!

. In case anyone was wondering what it looks like under the dash panel. Switches are top left.

Do you need a special tool to get the parking brake knob off its shaft?

Passenger Window

I used the gold punch you see in the drink holder. Be careful since when it came through the small pin flew across the cab. Fortunately it landed on the floor mat.

My 2015 is doing the same thing, passenger side only. Ordered the switch from Amazon, thanks for that tip! Looking at the photo, it looks like with the right tool the switch could be removed without removing the panel. Has anyone tried that?

I tried with needle nose pliers and a small screwdriver but no luck. Perhaps as you said with right tool.

I am having the same problem passenger window went down but will not go back up, I wanted to see if any one knows of a way of getting the window backup, like applying 12v to window motor directly, leaving tomorrow on a trip hate to have to tape up with plastic. Also if anyone has the part # for switch.

Thanks

Freightliner has a TSB on the window track - and will handle the switches under warranty.
