Popping and cracking noise from awning

Recently when there are some winds, but not a lot, the awning parts attached to the wall make a popping and cracking noise. Can't hardly hear them out side, but the walls seem to magnify the sound inside where it is loud enough to keep one awake. I have tightened all the attachment bolts, but that didn't help.

The awning came with the RV, and is made by Care Free and has the auto water dump feature, but not the auto retract for wind. Any ideas on how to stop the racket would be appreciated.

Wow, guess no one else has had this problem. Guess I'll have to call the dealer.

MadDad I would check to make sure all is tight and secure. I would then use silicone spray at the sliding parts. We never leave our awning out if there is a chance of wind. At night we bring our awning in close just to be safe. When we go out we bring the awning close again to be safe. This said because we don't have the auto retract.
