Prevent freeze

We'll be camping at Yellowstone National Park late August till first week of September in our 2011 Jayco Greyhawk 31SS. Is there anything we should do to protect the unit at night if temperature drops below freezing?

I wouldn't think you would have to worry at that time of year but just in case set your stat to it's lowest setting.

If you are hooked to a water hookup, let a faucet run very slowly through the night so the system doesn't freeze. Had to do that in Florida a couple nights last January.

Should not get that cold, but? A few things we do in cold weather (1) insulate water line with foam insulation from Lowes made for water lines (2) bubble wrap around campground water facet and pressure regulator (3) open grey water valve and let water run from one of you facets in RV (4) fill fresh water tank, unhook hose from campground facet and use 12v pump for water (if you have heated tanks in your RV). We do 1 and 2 in Florida in January and February because where we stay it get pretty cold sometimes.

Sounds like good advise to me. Have not done any winter camping yet.

For water to freeze in your rig it takes more than just a few min at 32.. it takes a huge plunge down or a few days constantly just below 32 to do any damage...
