When the tank is empty I fill them. The only time I might deviate is if we are going on a long multi week trip, so I do not have to deal with it will enjoying vacation.

Propane in the winter

Hi,

We keep ours full for a couple of reasons...

The tech at the dealer told us that keeping it full lessened the chance of getting moisture in the tank (condensation I guess).

Also, when we have a power failure at the house, we go out to the motorhome and cook and stay warm there 'till the power comes back on.

I don't worry about it. If you have no intention of using it, it makes no difference.

As for the moisture inside, that's laughable. If there is ANY lpg inside, the moisture will be virtually nil, and there won't be enough oxygen inside to allow the metal to rust anyway. Rust from the outside-in is far, far more likely.

If you keep the RV in the yard at home keep both tanks full (remember to use Sta-bil in the fuel tank). That way if power goes out in the house you have a place that can have heat...
