Propane tank

Can anyone tell me what the brass fitting on the bottom of the propane tank is that had a plug in it I think and now is leaking. Is it a pressure relief valve? First trip out, drove 300 miles in 100 degree heat, hope that is all it is.

Go and get it checked out at a propane dealer, they know what they are doing. Propane can be very dangerious, it is not something to be taken lightly.

Can you post a photo? I don't think that's the pressure relief. The pressure relief valve has a red sticker on it as shown in this photo:

My guess is that you're talking about the drain plug. I've never had a tank drained... I can also tell you that it should not leak.

I did take a picture and sent it to a RV repair guy that was closed but was willing to take a look. He said it was a quick connect or another fitting to hook up a BBQ or lantern. It is different though then the quick connect for the grill and connection that came with RV. This one has a 1/2 female thread. It does look like all the way inside there is a button that would depress if a male adapter was screwed in. It is still leaking but a very minimal amount. Going to go tomorrow and have it checked out. Thanks for your replies.

I think you might be right. It looks like the one all the way on the left. Just does not have that silver adapter in it. There was a plastic internal piece in side covered with a blue plastic cap.
