Are stabilizer jacks needed on a Redhawk 23XM?

Hi Oldrunner,

Depends on where you like to camp... We got the Redhawk rather than the Grayhawk specifically because of the extras that it doesn't have.

We didn't want the extra cameras, nav system, tankless hot water heater, levelers, etc. The levelers alone add about 500 pounds.

If you camp in commercial campgrounds with paved or improved gravel sites, you'll find that they are almost always level. That's one of the thing that you're paying for at a commercial campground.

Most state or national park campgrounds that we have stayed at usually just required that we might have to "wiggle" the unit around a bit in the site to get her level. With modern refrigerators, if it's level enough that the bathroom door stays where you leave it, you're good to go. If you're not sure, put the bubble level in the freezer compartment of the fridge, and make sure that you have at least a quarter of the bubble in the level.

Occasionally we've had to use a leveling board under one of the wheels... but not very often.

Happy and safe camping!
