Redhawk Suspension/Misc Upgrades
We picked up our new Redhawk in early August and I've been going through it making lots of little tweaks and correcting the things Jayco decided to ignore. I also installed the base plate and wiring on our Jeep Wrangler.
We finally got to take it out last weekend and tow the Jeep. It didn't take many miles to confirm what many others have found.. The suspension is in serious need of attention. I already had an appointment at Dallas Frame and Alignment to align the front end which Jayco agreed to pick up the tab for with a simple phone call. After the drive Friday night I did a touch more research and ordered new front/rear sway bars and a rear trac bar. I had already ordered the Safe-T-Plus steering stabilizer but hadn't installed it yet. The guys at Dallas Frame did an excellent job installing everything for me today and it drive like an entirely different vehicle now.
On the way there it was a two handed drive at 60 mph with only light mid-morning traffic. On the way back I could easily drive one handed at 70+ in moderate traffic. What a difference!
The other major improvement we made was replacing that $3 plastic toilet with a taller ceramic oblong toilet. Again, mayor improvement.
I've got another weekend of misc improvements before we give it another go.
